DRAFT, not legal advice. These terms are a working draft for adayo's MVP. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer and are not yet in force.
Terms of service
What adayo is
adayo is a lazy feed. You follow channels; their owners publish links to posts on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook; the links collect in your inbox, which refreshes once a day. adayo does not host the posts themselves: they stay on their platforms, under those platforms' own rules.
Your account
You must be 13 or over to use adayo.
Accounts are anonymous: a username, a 12-word recovery phrase that only you hold, and any passkeys you add on your devices. adayo never sees your phrase and cannot recover it for you: if you lose both your 12 words and every passkey, nobody can get the account back. You are responsible for what is published from your account, including by apps you give an API token to. API tokens follow the same rules and limits as you do, and you can revoke them at any time in Settings.
What you may publish
adayo accepts only a username, channel names, and links to posts on the supported platforms. Curating is allowed: a channel that links to other people's public posts is what adayo is for.
You must not use adayo, in a name or a link, for:
- illegal content, including child sexual abuse material and terrorist content;
- pornography;
- content that promotes or encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
- names that are hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or that promote violence;
- impersonation: a username or channel name that implies you are a person or organisation you are not.
Names
Names are not screened when they are made. When someone reports a username or channel name, it is checked at once by an automated language model. A name it finds unsuitable is replaced with a neutral placeholder (for example user-7k2p9x); if the model cannot decide, a person does. An admin can also rename a name that breaks these terms at any time. When a name is changed, its old address stops working: adayo never redirects, and a retired username is never given to anyone else. People who follow your channels keep following them. You will see a notice the next time you visit, and you can appeal each change once, from Settings (Name changes). A person reviews every appeal.
Reports
Anyone with an account can report a username, a channel, a channel name or a post on the Report page (linked at the foot of every page) by pasting its address; anyone, with or without an account, can use the contact form. We log every report, complaint and outcome.
- A reported name is checked at once by the name model, and may be renamed as above. A name the model has allowed recently goes to a person instead.
- For a reported post or channel, we show you how to report the post to the platform that hosts it, which can remove it at source. For child sexual abuse we also point you to the Internet Watch Foundation, and for terrorism to Counter Terrorism Policing. For an intimate image of you, we point you to the platform's own intimate-image reporting and to StopNCII.org.
- Nothing is removed on a report alone. A report cannot take a link down automatically.
- We may remove a link when there are reasonable grounds to believe it points to illegal content, for example a report with specific, credible detail, or contact from the Internet Watch Foundation or the police. We are not required to watch linked content, and we dismiss vague or unverifiable claims.
Impersonation disputes
If a username or channel pretends to be you, tell us through the contact form. We check control of your social account by asking you to put a short code in its profile for a moment; we never ask for real-world identity. Once confirmed, the username can be transferred to you and the impersonating account renamed or removed. The impersonator's old address stops working.
Removal
We may rename or remove names, links, channels or accounts that break these terms. If your account is removed, you can appeal through the contact form.
An account with no channels and no follows that has not been used for 12 months is deleted automatically, and its username is retired (see the privacy notice).
Limits
Every account is limited (channels, links per day, follows, reports, API requests) so that adayo stays small, fair and cheap to run. The limits apply the same way on the web and through the API.
Changes and contact
We may change these terms; the date of the current version will be shown here. To contact us, use the contact form, or email info@adayo.com.
