Connect an AI app to adayo
You can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your adayo account. Then you can ask it what's in your adayo today, have it follow a channel for you, or ask it to post a link to one of your channels.
The address to connect is https://mcp.adayo.com. For now, only apps from Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (ChatGPT) can connect.
Claude
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it adayo, and enter
https://mcp.adayo.comas its address. - Choose Connect. Claude opens adayo: log in if you need to, then check the page and choose Allow.
Custom connectors depend on your Claude plan and, in an organisation, on what its owners allow.
Claude Code
Run this in a terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http adayo https://mcp.adayo.com
Then, in Claude Code, type /mcp, choose adayo and log in. Your browser opens adayo, where you check the page and choose Allow.
ChatGPT
In ChatGPT's settings, add a custom app (a connector) with the address https://mcp.adayo.com, and choose OAuth if it asks how to sign in. ChatGPT may ask you to turn on developer mode first, and some plans don't offer custom apps. Then connect it: ChatGPT opens adayo, where you log in if you need to, check the page and choose Allow.
What you allow
Before anything is shared, adayo shows you the app's name, marked (unverified) because the app names itself, where its details came from (such as claude.ai, which adayo checked), the address it will return you to, and what it will be able to do. Only allow it if you just asked that app to connect. Allowing needs a recent login, so adayo may ask you to confirm it's you.
You can untick permissions you don't want to give: at least one must stay ticked. To give one later, connect the app again and leave it ticked.
Depending on the permissions you allow, a connected app can:
- read: Read your inbox; see any channel, and the links of the channels you follow; see which channels you follow; see your channels, their links and follower counts; and receive notices from adayo, such as security alerts and service news.
- follow: See which channels you follow; follow or unfollow channels; and receive notices from adayo, such as security alerts and service news.
- publish: See your channels, their links and follower counts; create channels; post links (as your Posting setting allows); delete links; check on the posts it asked you to approve; and receive notices from adayo, such as security alerts and service news.
Your inbox is today's edition of your adayo. Posting is explained below.
It can't change your recovery words, passkeys or settings, delete a channel or your account, or connect other apps. It follows the same rules and daily limits as you do, and shares one limit of 60 requests a minute with your API tokens. You can connect up to 10 apps.
Posting
Each app that can post has a Posting setting in Settings, under Connected apps:
- Ask me each time (the setting a new app starts with). When the app wants to post a link, adayo gives it a link to an approval page on adayo.com, which the app shows you. That page shows the exact link and the channel, and you choose Post this once, Post and always allow this app, or Don't post. Nothing is posted unless you choose to post it, and a request you don't answer expires after 60 minutes.
- Always allow: the app posts links to your channels without asking.
You can switch between them at any time. Only posting a link asks: creating a channel, deleting a link, and following and unfollowing don't. Creating a channel tells nobody, and a new channel has no followers.
What the app sees
The app receives what you ask it to fetch from adayo, and adayo's notices (below), and the AI provider (Anthropic or OpenAI) handles it under its own privacy terms. adayo sends it nothing else. Channel names and links are written by other adayo users, so treat what the app says about them with the same care as the links themselves. See Privacy for what adayo stores about each connection.
Notices from adayo
When something important happens to your account, such as a login with your 12 words, a passkey added or removed, or another app connected, adayo also tells your connected apps, so your AI assistant can let you know. Each notice is a fixed sentence from adayo with the time and a link to your Settings on adayo.com, sent beside the answer to the app's next request, and the app is asked to tell you. Your security notices in Settings are unchanged.
adayo may also send every connected app a service notice, such as planned maintenance or news from adayo. It is the same fixed sentence for everyone, says nothing about your account, and links to adayo's news page.
Disconnecting
- In Settings, under Connected apps, choose Disconnect next to the app. It loses access straight away, and any post still waiting for your approval is dropped.
- "Log out everywhere else", in Settings, can also disconnect every app at once.
- Deleting your account disconnects every app.
- An app that doesn't use its connection for 90 days is disconnected automatically.
Removing adayo inside Claude or ChatGPT may not disconnect it here. To be sure, disconnect it in Settings.
